Two Important Warnings:
1- All fragile and/or large ítems are crated in a box made of wood or other material ensuring effective protection. As a consequence its is mandatory you request a shipping quote before confirming an order unless you decide to arranging your own shipping or pickup.
2- Depending on each country legislation in the EU, typically ítems over a hundred year request an export authorization by Culture authorities. This can delay delivery up to one month over estimated shipping times. If an object on display on AnticAndVintage.com requires such authorisation, it shall be indicated on the object's file. AnticAndVintage does not guarantee that such authorisation will be obtained and shall not incur any liability in the event that it is refused.

White
Glove and Front Door delivery for large and/or
fragile pieces can be expedited upon request.
The extra cost can be substantial, as expedited
shipping may require specialized carriers or
routing changes.
Scheduling a Delivery
If
your piece is being handled by a White Glove or
Front Door shipping provider, the carrier will
contact you 24 to 48 hours prior to the delivery
date to schedule a convenient drop-off window,
usually between 2 and 4 hours wide.
With UPS, FedEx, DHL, or another parcel carrier,
it's generally more difficult to schedule a
delivery, but we recommend you contact them
directly to make delivery arrangements.
SHIPPING QUOTES.
By default, the shipping quote has to be requested
Requesting a Quote
If the shipping cost is not listed on the item details page, choose the delivery method you want, submit your order and a shipping quote will be provided within 1 to 3 working days.
If you accept the quote, your order will be confirmed and the item will be shipped to you. If you reject the quote, your order will be canceled and you will not be charged.
If the seller provides free shipping, your order will be automatically confirmed and the item will be shipped to you.
Please note, if your item is being shipped from a different country, you will be required to acknowledge that customs duties and taxes may apply and are your responsibility.
Calculating Shipping Quotes
Shipping quotes are determined by dimensional
weight, which is based on the item size, not the
actual item weight, and shipping distance.
Antic & Vintage passes the direct cost for
shipping to the customer. There is no mark up on
these costs.
Pre-quoted shipping, when displayed, is based
on dimensional weight and covers broader
geographic areas. This includes shipping to the
entire continental EU and the rest of the world.
Accounting for Lead Times
Large, fragile, and one-of-a-kind items require more time and care to ensure they get from the seller to your destination safely. Make sure to consider any extra time that may be needed for scheduling pickup and delivery, packaging, and delivering your item.
Pickup Times
The carrier and seller coordinate a pickup time, which can vary and be limited for some sellers in certain countries and remote areas. This could account for extended lead times that may be quoted to allow sellers the time needed to make your unique item to your specifications.
Packing
The carrier is responsible for packing your item. Glass and marble items as well as furniture and illumination ítems are crated in wood boxes, and other delicate items may be crated with a custom foam insert or wrapped in a blanket for additional protection.
Transportation
Pieces are shipped taking the utmost care and precautions against damage. Learn more about the different shipping services we offer.
Scheduling a Delivery
Large items must be signed for upon delivery. Usually the carrier will contact you 24 to 48 hours before the delivery date to schedule a convenient time, usually within a window of 2 to 4 hours, to drop off your item. If your item was shipped internationally, the carrier may also request personal information, needed for customs processing.
Arranging Your Own Shipping or Pickup
For most orders, you can arrange for another delivery method or choose to pick up your purchase yourself. Select your preferred shipping option at checkout in the Shipping Method section, where you'll see options, "Pick up in person" and "Arrange shipping yourself." Once your order is processed, the seller will contact you to arrange for a pickup, or go over shipping details and timing.
We recommend the item be inspected, either by you or the carrier when picking it up, to ascertain its condition before it leaves the seller's shop. When the item arrives at its destination, inspect it again to make sure it's in the same condition as when it left the store.
If you are using your own carrier, make sure you understand its insurance coverage and policies.
Please note, if you pick up an item yourself, we will collect and pass along applicable sales taxes based on the seller's store location.
Tracking an Order
We
make it easy to check on the status of your
order, wherever in the process it may be.
Go to the account menu and scroll down to My
Orders, where you'll be able to see if the
seller is preparing your item for shipping, if
it's ready to be picked up by the shipping
provider, and if it has already shipped. If it
has been shipped, you'll see the carrier's name
and tracking information, if available.
You'll also receive regular email updates about
your order.
If you're waiting for the seller to respond to
an order-related question, contact
us and we will follow up on your
behalf.
